The Cook County Health and Hospitals System Board of Directors held its fourth meeting on Thursday, August 7th. The following is a brief summary of the new Health Board's meeting:
David Small, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Cook County Health and Hospitals System, reported that the Illinois Department of Public Health had not reached a reaccreditation decision regarding the perinatal program at Stroger Hospital, due to concerns raised during previous evaluations that had still not been addressed.
Update on July 23rd meeting from Emergency Network
The Cook County Health and Hospitals System Board of Directors held its third meeting on Friday, July 23rd. The following is a brief summary of the new Health Board's meeting:
Dr. Couture from Cermak Health Services tendered her resignation as the Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Avery Hart, a friend of the Emergency Network, was named as the Interim Chief.
Full Board Confirmed for Cook County Bureau of Health
Four more members were approved for the Cook County Board of Health on May 28th. The approved candidates were: Dr. David Ansell, Dr. Luis Munoz, Sister Sheila Lyne, and Warren Batts.

Final Ordinance Establishing the Interim Board of Directors for the CCBHS

Cook County Board President Todd Stroger has picked four new candidates to serve on an independent board to run the county's beleaguered public-health system, softening criticism of his original slate.
Update on Developments for the Interim Board of Cook County Bureau of Health Services
Chaired by Larry Suffredin, the legislative committee of the Cook County Board of Commissioners met on May 13 to consider the nine candidates recommended by President Stroger.
The committee was informed that Norman Bobins had withdrawn his name from consideration. The committee proceeded to interview the remaining candidates.

The Cook County Board of Commissioners will interview the nine candidates for members of the new governing board of the Bureau of Health on Tuesday, May 13th beginning at 10am. This meeting will take place in the Board Room on the 5th floor of the County Building and is open to the public.
